Is it just me, or...

Okay, so the Hutton report's parameters were strictly set to cover purely the death of David Kelly. It wasn't to be about why we went to war.

So, I find it slightly worrying that Blair and Co now seem to be spinning the results of Hutton to justify the country going to war, and confine criticism of it.

Slippery, as the saying goes, shits.

(Baby stuff will resume shortly. Sleep deprivation etc need to stabilise.)

All that was needed from the Hutton Report was the slighest fudging, the merest pulling of punches, the mildest of equivocation & in would go the spin bowlers, seeking to turn the document into a ringing endorsement of Labour Party policy up to, during & immediately after the Iraq war. Which is what they're already doing with the five vote margin on tuition fees. These oily bastards are well smart enough to turn an only-just-not-a-defeat into foreplay for another five years of lies & chicanery.

Strangely it looks like the other channels, far from leaping upon its wounded body, are rallying round the BBC. My favourite line was from the ITN reporter who said: "Where was Lord Hutton during the Hutton inquiry?" Brilliant.
