Relaxing

So here I am, a few days into Christmas and a fortnight off work. During which time I've almost completely failed to stop. The momentum and stress and adrenalisation of the last year just refuses to be shaken off. Anyone got any ideas?

Spulling and Puntcuation - Now Crtrical

Ah bum.

Well I guess the time finally came. I have finally turned off the default forward-all-emails-to-my-domain-to... option on my pair.com account. For the sake of my powerbook's hard disk really.

I don't mind a bit of your oldskool junk mail - faintly annoying but there you go. Most of it is so obvious it can be caught by normal filters or is so obviously nonsense my brain can just kill it from the subject line alone.

But I'm now getting a few thousand 'bounce' emails a day from people who are merely the recipient of some spambot picking my domain name at random for that particular batch of Cialis ads.

So, as of now, I'm really sorry, but if you want to email me - it's time to get the address right!

Diary Date

Milo took his first steps today.

He kind of did them by accident, and studiously avoided doing any more, but it's coming...about three months after all his friends.

Hint hint

Note to self:

If you can remember all your credit card details by heart, it may be God's way of saying you're doing too much shopping online.

Something's not right...

I'm getting a little distressed about what's going under the surface of my beloved Nokia N95, ever since the first heady days when I upgraded the firmware.

There was all the non-pre-installed games stopping working, for a start. Even though I could offset that because the GPS had finally got reliable.

But neither of the accelerometer API based games seem to work for me - either the lightsabre app, or the just announced accelerinvaders.

Bum I say.

Grudging

Okay, okay. So red sweater only want $9.95 to upgrade now I've dug out my old licence key. So I'm back using GUI interfaces to blog again. Yay.

(Anyone know of an N95 text blogging client that's any good?)

Newsgator still have no upgrade path for old NetNewsWire customers though - shame on them. (I know it's only $29.95, and with the exchange rate it's not much, but why would you want to sign up with a company that is that contemptuous of the existing userbase?)

Warning

I just thought I'd point out that this blog is coming back to life soon.

Facebook, you were lovely, and perhaps having you as a place to put the total trivia which used to clog up this place will up the quality of my blogging. But the endless apps - and finally the bloody 'mohammed the bear is travelling' message - just did me in.

Enough.

I'm going to try and be more serious about being not that serious. And this is the place for me to start doing it again.

(I also lay the blame partly at the feet of bloody Ranchero, who when selling out rather lost the plot on upgrade and maintenance paths. I lost my install of MarsEdit during the sudden new hard disk incident a while back, and braving the web-based interface to MovableType has taken a while. And if I haven't visited your blog for a while - apologies - I lost NetNewsWire in the same crash.)
