You what?

While listening to GLR today I heard the following choice comment from the author of forthcoming book "Fashionista":

"I like that I can look at someone and know that they're wearing Jimmy Choo shoes. I can know what's going on in the world"

(subject to transcription errors between her saying it and my getting the computer up and running.)

To be honest, I'm a big fan of fashion. I can normally have a stab at who designed what. I know who Philip Treacy is, and can spot Westwood at 20 paces.

But, particularly in current times, I don't think I'd say that counts as "what's going on in the world".

Sigh
